The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of Mrs. Eralkhuemen Unulkiere, a Chief Matron with the Rubber Estate Nigeria Limited clinic, in Araromi Obu, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Femi Joseph, who disclosed this to reporters on Thursday in Akure, said Mrs. Unulkiere was kidnapped penultimate Sunday on her way to Church along Alaye-Araromi road.
Joseph explained that the kidnappers, numbering about five and armed with dangerous weapons, whisked the victim away in her Pathfinder jeep and immediately contacted the family for ransom to secure her release from captivity.
He added that the abductors, who are demanding the sum of N35 Million naira have also reached out to the management of the Rubber Plantation Company to raise the fund or risk her life.
Daily Times gathered from co-workers in the Company that the Edo state born victim is the only matron at the company’s clinic who had served for many years.
The Managing Director of the company, Mr Eric Hocepied, expressed shock at the abduction of the matron also corroborated that the captor’s are demanding for the sum of N35 Million.
